Update: Search for Missing Boy Moves to Redmond
The search is now centered around the home of the 2-year-old boy's mother.
The search for a missing 2-year-old is now focused on an area surrounding the boy's mother's home in the 8000 block of 161st Avenue Northeast in downtown Redmond, the Bellevue Police Department announced Monday.
Jim Bove, a spokesman for theย , confirmed that the search had moved to Redmond and that Redmond officers were assisting in the case but said the investigation was still being overseen by the Bellevue Police Department.
โWe are assisting them, but itโs still their case,โ Bove said.

Two-year-old Sky Metalwala was reported missing in Bellevue by his mother on Sunday morning after she reportedly left him unattended in an unlocked vehicle when her car ran out of gas. (ย for Redmond Patch's initial story on the boy's disappearance.)
According to aย news release from Bellevue Police, police are focusing their efforts on the area surrounding the Redmond home of the boy's mother. Police searched her home, located in the 8000 block of 161st Avenue Northeast, and vehicle Sunday night and on Monday morning continued searching in the area surrounding the home.

The FBI, King County Search and Rescue, the Redmond Police Department and King County Guardian One Helicopter have all been involved in the search, according to Bellevue Police, and a Redmond Police command center was spotted at the downtown Redmond transit station earlier today.
Meanwhile, King County District Court documents obtained by Patch show the boy's parents were cited in 2009 for leaving a child in a car in Redmond. The case was dismissed after the parents agreed to a year of probation, parenting classes and community service.
The boy's parents, Julia Biryukova and Solomon Metalwala, began divorce proceedings in 2009, which included a protection order requested by Biryukova, who said that her husband threatened to kill her if she sought custody of their children, according to King County District Court documents obtained by Patch.
Bellevue Police have said both parents are cooperating in the investigation of the boy's disappearance.
