Fox Cities Chamber: Appleton Area School District Announces Future Superintendent Finalists

The Appleton Area School District Board of Education announced today that they have selected finalists for the future superintendent. On March 2, 2022, the Board held initial interviews and selected two finalists: Greg Hartjes and Cassandra Schug.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the Board and two advisory groups will interview the finalists. The advisory groups will provide feedback to the Board. The Board’s consultant from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) will facilitate the selection of the future superintendent with the Board. We anticipate an announcement of the selected candidate by Friday, March 25, 2022.

In November 2021, the Board of Education announced that Superintendent Dr. Judith Baseman had submitted a notice of retirement to the Board, effective June 30, 2022. The future superintendent’s official start date will be July 1, 2022.
