The Caledonia Police Association has exciting news! We are putting on a 5k fun run/walk on August 25, 2012 to raise money for C.O.P.S Organization and the Caledonia Police Association.
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) is an organization for the surviving families of law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. The organization provides ongoing support through a network of trained volunteer peers and mental health care professionals. It offers retreats and camps at no cost to the participants.
Additional services offered by the C.O.P.S. organization include ongoing survivor support, grief counseling for children, scholarships and financial support, law enforcement and training seminars, summer camps and retreats amongst other things.

The 5k fun run/walk will be open to the public. The race times will most likely begin between 8-9 a.m. the morning of Saturday, August 25, 2012. After the 5k fun run/walk, there will be a one mile youth fun run for youth participants as well.
Registered participants will receive a runner’s packet, which includes a t-shirt and local area coupons/flyers. In addition to the 5k fun run/walk, Caledonia Safety Day will begin at 10 a.m. This event will take place at K-Mart located at 5141 Douglas Ave. The Caledonia Safety Day brings together the community to offer displays, vendors and information valuable to the public.

We are looking for donations and sponsors to help fund the 5k fun run/walk. A logo or business name will be placed on the race t-shirts for all businesses that donate $500 or more in money or supplies. The business that donates the most will have their logo as the primary focus on the runner’s t-shirt. All businesses that are able to donate any amount will be in a pamphlet recognizing the contributions.
There are numerous expenses when dealing with an event such as this and the number of participants. The amount of money raised for the event will directly reflect the success. The proceeds of the event will be split between the C.O.P.S. Organization and the Caledonia Police Union.
This is our first year of putting on the 5k fun/run. We are anticipating it will be a great success and hoping to make this an annual event.
If you have any questions, please contact Officer Kimberly Migazzi or Officer Rick Rager at (262) 835-4423. Monetary donations can either be dropped off or mailed to the Caledonia Police Department, 6900 Nicholson Rd., Caledonia, WI 53108. Checks can be made out to the Caledonia Professional Police Association. Please reference on the check the donation is for the 5k fun run/walk.
Sincerely,
Members of the Caledonia Professional Police Association
