Caledonia Police Believe Burglary And Theft Related Crimes

Over $3,200 in fishing equipment was taken from a garage and police believe a nearby theft was done by the same person.

Caledonia Police believe a burglary was committed by the same person or people who committed a nearby theft.

A garage was burglarized and fishing equipment was taken sometime between 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 and 6 a.m. Sept. 5 from a residence in the 7800 block of Six Mile Road.

According to a report by the , four fishing rods and reels, two tackle boxes, and a 15-horse Johnson outboard motor were taken from the garage. The estimated value of the items total $3,200. The service door to the garage was also damaged and the estimated cost of the damage is $200.

The homeowner told police someone kicked in the service door to the garage and also entered a nearby shed.

The incident is still under investigation and is believed to be related to a theft that happened in the 9300 block of Six Mile Road sometime between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 4.

According to the report, two vehicles and a boat were gone through, and a $100 pair of sunglasses were taken. The vehicles and boat were parked near the residence.
