
RACINE – The Original Root Zen Center’s Peace School will hold a “Music Day” on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children ages 4 to 10 years old.
The one-day class is designed to teach children peace through music and nature. Children will have the opportunity to sing, play and create music under the guidance of professional musicians and educators. Activities include:
- Finding sounds in nature and using them in music.
- Creating instruments from natural materials.
- Discovering rhythms inside their own bodies by following their heartbeat and breath.
The registration fee is $15 and $5 for each additional sibling. The price includes all materials, instruction time and a healthy snack.

Peace School is an educational program that teaches children altruism, empathy, compassion and loving-kindness. It is run through the Original Root Zen Center and led by professional teachers and Buddhist clergy.
