"The One" is standing right in front of you when you are not really looking. That was true for me and my boyfriend, Ken, over seven years. In the summer of 2003, I was going through a divorce. In need of a distraction, I went to watch my brother at the racetrack, and saw Ken by my brother's car, his face full of grease. My heart fluttered. We hung out that night, began dating not long after that, and have built a life together. My heart still flutters when he walks in the door with grease on his hands or face.
