Minor Accused Of Stealing Car With Children Inside In Racine
A 15-year-old was arrested in connection with two car thefts, while police say two young children were in the backseat during one theft.
RACINE, WI — Racine police arrested a 15-year-old on Thursday in connection to two separate car thefts, and police say a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old were in the backseat during the first theft on Wednesday.
The children were found unharmed in the 2900 block of Washington Ave. and were returned to their family, the Racine Police Department said in a statement. The children were inside of a car that was stolen — police gave chase to the car at first, but backed off due to the danger of the situation.
Police arrested the 15-year-old after a chase with a second stolen car, and the minor was arrested in connection with both incidents.
