REAL School Valedictorian Has Message of Gratitude

Evan Clark addressed his fellow students at the Caledonia school's graduation on Friday night, bidding them farewell, and thanking the faculty for their guidance over his high school career.

REAL School Valedictorian Evan Clark shared this speech with his classmates on Friday, June 8.

Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I’m not too fond of speaking in front of people, so I’ll get right to the point.  I’d like to start off by thanking Willie and Al for putting the time and effort they have into this school, creating an environment where individuality and personality can thrive.  It really is a unique school.

There are many things that make it so special, such as: our senior committee having a part in the decision making and fund-raising for the school, and paring up seniors and sixth-graders in a senior advocate program.  Fellow students and staff alike have been like a second family to many of us.  How many other schools get the seniors and staff for a prom dinner?  Students and staff of R.E.A.L have been getting together for dinner every year, for the past 10 years.

This thanks extends to the rest of the staff, many of which go above and beyond to make sure that their students excel in everything they do.  If you’re struggling they pick you back up, dust you off, and redirect you.  I think I speak for all of us when I say we truly appreciate everything you’ve done for us.
