Trustees to Schedule Public Hearing About Proposed Walmart Site
Trustees will schedule a public hearing for sometime in September to consider an office park designation for the corner of 4-Mile and Green Bay roads.

Caledonia trustees Monday will schedule a statutorily required public hearing before the board can formally identify the corner of 4-Mile and Green Bay roads as an office park.
Trustees on July 22 voted to send the office park designation to a public hearing, effectively killing any plans by Walmart to build a 182,000 square foot supercenter on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Walmart's applications to both rezone the land and amend the village's land use plan require a public hearing with no less than a 30-day notice. During the hearing, residents' comments will be become part of the record for trustees to consider when making a final decision on either zoning or land use or both.
The Caledonia Village Board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the East Side Community Center, 6156 Douglas Avenue.
