Combined Hotel Proposed For Franklin Ballpark Commons
Two brands have proposed a shared hotel development at Ballpark Commons after the previous hotel brand backed away from the project.
FRANKLIN, WI — Two hotel chains have proposed a combined hotel development at Franklin's Ballpark Commons.
Mainstay and SleepInn would create the four-story building split between two hotel brands. A total of 98 rooms would be split up between the two hotel brands, according to documents submitted to the City of Franklin.
The 50,000 square foot development would be framed with wood. It would eventually house an indoor pool, a laundry room, exterior patio, fitness and community rooms. The building would be constructed on the west side of 76th Street, southeast of Crystal Ridge Road.

Of the 98 rooms, 51 would be dedicated to MainStay, an extended stay hotel brand. MainStay's rooms would be equipped with kitchenettes to assist in extended stays, a letter from the developer to the city said.
"The position of the building in this development is ideal for guests visiting Ballpark Commons and also will have great visibility for transient travelers passing through Franklin. The hotel is close enough that guests can walk to all the venues, but spaced apart enough to provide ideal sleeping conditions," Troy Hart of BraveHart Development LLC told the city in a letter.
