FRANKLIN, WI β€” Multiple calls about a potential threat to Forest Park Middle School resulted in a lockdown and evacuation of the building Monday, according to Franklin Park Public Schools.

Police swept the school and evacuated classrooms one at a time, the school district said in a news release. Authorities determined there was no active threat. A person had called middle school staff claiming to have guns inside the building, FOX6 News reported, noting police received a similar call and the caller eventually admitted to law enforcement the threat was a hoax

A nearby elementary building was placed in a hold during the situation, according to the school district. 4K morning students districtwide were not released at the usual time because busing was reallocated for Forest Park family reunification, and 4K afternoon classes were canceled.
