The proclaimation says that the park and recreation department's "parks, greenways, and open spaces provide a welcome respite from our fast paced, high tech lifestyles while protecting and preserving our natural environment." It also says that the department provides experiences for both young and old in the community. Greendale Park &amp; Recreation Department offers programs, services and activities for the Greendale community. ﻿They manage seven parks in Greendale, provide childcare, hold a number of fundraisers, and conduct educational programs and classes. The department also offers a number of athletic leagues.
