August Proclaimed as Park and Recreation Month
The Greendale Park and Recreation Department's "parks, playgrounds, open spaces, community center, and historic sites make a community an attractive and desirable place to live, work, play and visit and contribute to our ongoing economic vitality."

The Greendale Village Board declared the month of August as month.
The proclaimation says that the park and recreation department's "parks, greenways, and open spaces provide a welcome respite from our fast paced, high tech lifestyles while protecting and preserving our natural environment."
It also says that the department provides experiences for both young and old in the community.

Greendale Park & Recreation Department offers programs, services and activities for the Greendale community. They manage seven parks in Greendale, provide childcare, hold a number of fundraisers, and conduct educational programs and classes. The department also offers a number of athletic leagues.
