Greendale PD Explain Disappearance of U.S. Flag
The department said it didn't mean to offend any armed forces members when it removed the U.S. flag that usually flies outside the station. Storms broke the ropes on the flag pole.

The Greendale Police Department said ropes on flag poles outside the police station broke during last week's storms and left it unable to fly the U.S. flag.
The department said in a Facebook post that some members of the armed services may have been insulted by the flag's disappearance, but no offense was meant.
"We have the utmost respect for our Armed Services members and wish to apologize if any were offended," the department wrote.
