The POMS team proved this weekend that hard work pays off after they won the 35th annual Midwest Grand Pom Championship this weekend. The team spent the weekend competing against 31 teams in Schaumburg, IL. The competition was separated into categories. The Greendale Poms team won four categories. Junior Sarah Scheuer won 3rd place for a solo competition. Recently the girls also won the State Fair Poms Champiionship. Now the girls are looking forward to their trip to Disney World where they will be performing as they did <a href="http://www.greendale.k12.wi.us/GHS/StudentPublications_assets/SS-2-25-11.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">last year.</a> Coach Lynn Rutkiewicz said that the girls had been preparing all summer long and are now getting ready for the first football game of the season on Friday at 7 p.m. at Gavinski Stadium.
