Maxie's Offers Curbside Service

If you love the favorites at Maxie's — like the pulled pork sandwiches or jambalaya — but don't have time to sit down for a meal, you now can just grab a sandwich and go. The popular west side restaurant, located just off the I-94 and 68th Street, now has a food cart at the curb where selected sandwiches are served during lunch on weekdays, the Journal Sentinel reports. Sushi Restaurant Open in Menomonee Falls

Sakura Sushi & Grill, Menomonee Falls' first sushi restaurant, has opened its doors on Appleton Avenue. With modern decor, a sleek bar, and fish tanks in the pillars, Sakura offers a wide range of New York-style Japanese fusion menu items, as well as Hibachi, Chinese, Thai, Teriyaki, and Donburi cooked entrees. Owner Chun Yeung has more than 10 years of experience in the Japanese restaurant business. Read more on Menomonee Falls Patch.

Fried Chicken and Waffles on the Menu at New Eatery

Elsewhere in Waukesha County, the new Willow Tree Cafe opened its doors over the weekend on Janesville Road in Muskego. The restaurant serves a traditional breakfast, but also features fried chicken and waffles as well as its signature "Willow waffle," a belgian waffled served with ham, cheese and drizzled in syrup. Lunches feature popular open-faced sandwiches, burgers, and soups, while dinners will cover many of the favorite "comfort foods," like pot roast, meat loaf and more. Read more on Muskego Patch.

Chef of Crazy Water to Open Restaurant Nearby

Chef Peggy Magister of Crazy Water and her nephew are planning a new restaurant just across the street from Crazy Water in Walker's Point, the Journal Sentinel reports.  The new eatery will be called AP Bar & Kitchen, for "all-purpose," and will feature small plates and plates for sharing, as well as a burger, the newspaper said. The restaurant, the latest in a series of new restaurants in Walker's Point, is expected to open in August. Read more on JSOnline.

Blue Ribbon Pub Now Pouring in Old Pabst Brewery

There's not a more fitting location for a new pub than the old Pabst Brewery, and that's just where Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub is located. The pub, which opened in May, is part of the The Brewhouse Inn & Suites, an all-suites hotel located in the old Pabst complex on North 10th Street. The pub has 13 beers on tap, mostly local ones, along with a wide variety of bottled beers from around the globe, according to OnMilwaukee.com. The restaurant also has a large outdoor beer garden. Read more on OnMilwaukee.com.
