Ricardo's Outdoor Dining Received Final Approval

Ricardo's Pizza fans might soon enjoy outdoor door this summer.

The Greendal Village Board to approved a building permit to have outdoor dining at Ricardo’s on Broad Street on Tuesday night.

Village Manager Todd Michaels said last week at a planning commission meeting that Richard Loch, the owner of the restaurant, had been struggling for two years in trying to create outdoor dining.

The struggles were due to serving alcoholic beverages outdoors. Michaels said outdoor dining needs to be in a regulated and controlled area if alcohol is going to be served.

As a solution Loch will build a fence around the area with about four tables and will be built in between the restaurant and the water fountain. He will add more table if there is enough space for comfortable seating.

Loch said at the planning commission meeting that he hopes to have the outdoor dining ready for the remaining of the summer season and the into the fall.
