School Board Recognizes Education Foundation Board Members

George Vranes and Ken Stauffer were honored at the Greendale School Board meeting for their dedicated years of service to the Education Foundation of Greendale.

Vranes has served on the board for 12 years, both as Member-at-Large and Board President. Stauffer has served on the Board for nine years as Board Treasurer.

Under their leadership and guidance, thousands of dollars have been raised to support academic excellence in Greendale Schools.

Established in 1998, the Education Foundation of Greendale has awarded countless innovative grant requests to help enrich the learning experience for Greendale students. Their efforts have brought over $202,953 in student projects and learning opportunities.

In addition, the Foundation has administered student scholarships for post-secondary education and merit -based awards for School District staff.

“Vranes and Stauffer have been committed members of the Education Foundation of Greendale, its mission, and its vital role in ensuring Greendale students are afforded a great education,” said School Board President Joe Crapitto.

The Education Foundation has a new board president,  He discussed his plan for the foundation at the meeting. 

"We’re trying to grow this foundation from the inside and out," Johnson said. "Get more involvement of community leaders, like the board of education, more involvement with teachers, more involvement with alumni, which has been a missing component. My vision is to turn this into an education foundation that doesn’t exist in any public school in the country."
