Wisconsin Regional Art Program at Greendale Library

57 works of art will be displayed and judged.

This year’s 2011 Wisconsin Regional Art Program will be held at the with 57 works of art by 21 artists displayed on Saturday.

Of those 21 artists seven will be given Honorable Mention Awards and seven will be selected as State Exhibit Awards. State exhibitors will then qualify for 2012 Wisconsin Regional Artist Association state convention in Madison.

The judge this year is Chad Lindemann, Associate Professor of Art at Wisconsin Lutheran College, and will be present in the afternoon to critique one piece he has selected from each of the 21 artists if the artist is present.

There will be a presentation by Brenda Schweder called One Artist's Squiggly Wiggly Yellow Brick Road to her Right 'Oz. Schweder is the author of Steel Wire Jewelry: Stylish Design, Simple Techniques, Artful Inspiration.

Admission for participating artists is free. For others admission will be $5.

9:45 a.m. Registration

10:00 a.m. Greetings

10:15 a.m. A lecture and demonstration by artist Brenda Schweder:  "One Artist's Squiggly Wiggly Yellow Brick Road to her Right 'Oz.'"

11:45 a.m. Lunch Break

1:30 p.m. Chad Lindemann will lead a discussion/critique on one piece by each participant emphasizing its strengths and areas needing improvement.

The juror and the coordinator will reveal the Honorable Mention and State Exhibit winners and the artist will discuss why the Honorable Mention and State Exhibit winners were selected

 3:30 p.m. Conclusion (tentative)
