15 Milwaukee County Nursing Homes Investigated For COVID-19
A single confirmed case initiates a facility-wide public health investigation at long-term care facilities.
MILWAUKEE, WI — A total of 52 long-term care facilities in Milwaukee County have active COVID-19 outbreak investigations as of this week, state health officials said.
According to Wisconsin Department of Health Services data updated on Wednesday, there are a total of 130 COVID-19 investigations in Milwaukee County.
State officials say there are 52 active investigations at long-term care facilities, 38 at workplaces, and nine at other locations. A number of investigations have been closed. Of the 52 long-term care facilities with active investigations, 15 are for nursing homes.

Facility-wide and outbreak investigations are considered closed when two maximum incubation periods have passed since the last possible exposure to a COVID-19 case in the facility without any new cases, state officials said. For COVID-19, two maximum incubation periods are 28 days
