Library Announces Several Springtime Programs

The will have several interactive opportunities in April, for children to adults.

“Play Off Your Library Fines” from 3-5 p.m. Monday, April 2, will give teens a chance to play off their library fines, up to a maximum of $5, when they challenge a librarian to a game of MarioKart, Just Dance, or Super Smash Bros. Brawl and win.

Only fines from Greenfield Library items apply.

At 2 p.m. April 14, there will be a Free Children’s Program of A Tale of Two Hemispheres performed by Kohl’s Wild Theater.

In this 45-minute show, children will be introduced to animals living near both ends of the earth. Ursus, the polar bear, and Cygnus, the trumpeter swan, need help figuring out why their polar ice lot line is moving. A penguin and a pirate search for the same treasure off the coast of Chile. This performance will be held in the Library Community Room. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

Popular children’s author, Herman Parish, will visit the library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19.

Parish is the author of Amelia Bedelia’s First Vote. This program is sponsored by Boswell Books and the Greenfield Public Library. It is free and open to all. Registration is not required.

Parish’s books will be available for purchase, or bring your own from home to be autographed. Don’t forget your camera!

Finally, grab some great deals on books, movies and music at the third annual Greenfield Library Used Book Sale on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Stock up on books at bargain prices. Held in the Library Community Room, this popular sale promises a wide selection of gently used materials.

Donations for the sale are appreciated and will be accepted at the Greenfield Library Check-Out Desk through Wednesday, April 25, and at Baker Square Restaurant, 4900 S. 76th St., through Monday, April 23.
