Chases End With PIT Moves + Stolen Cars: Greenfield Police Logs

Here's a look back at noteworthy logs reported by the Greenfield Police Department from June 20-Sunday.

GREENFIELD, WI — When police were called out on Thursday to look for a person on a bike and a person on foot who were cutting through yards, an officer spotted an SUV that was possibly involved and began a pursuit, according to the latest logs from the Greenfield Police Department.

Police started a pursuit of the White land rover near 3st Street and Edgerton Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. that day, logs said. The pursuit ended in the 5000 block of 27th Street after a successful PIT maneuver, according to logs. The driver ran away and police said they arrested him. The person had a warrant with Wauwatosa police, and was cited and released.

  • Someone told her police her vehicle was stolen in the 4800 block of 68th Street on June 20 when she left it running to go inside, logs said.
  • An employee of a business in the 4700 block of 27th Street told police the catalytic converter was stolen from her Toyota SUV on June 17, logs said.
  • Someone told police their 2016 Honda was stolen, possibly with keys, in the 4400 block of Tesch Avenue on June 20, logs said.
  • Police began a pursuit of a vehicle near 43rd Street and Forest Home Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on June 21, with the pursuit ending in a crash in Milwaukee, according to logs. The vehicle being chased crashed into a wall on Interstate 43 in the Kilbourn Tunnel, logs said. The driver ran away from the vehicle after a PIT maneuver near Vel R Phillips and Kilbourn Avenues. The person was arrested in the 300 block of State Street and brought back to the station on felony eluding charges and warrants, according to logs.
  • Someone told police his 1998 Honda Civic was stolen when it was parked at a business in the 4700 block of 27th Street on June 21, logs said. The person saw his vehicle fleeing onto the highway about 10 minutes before he called. The person found his vehicle abandoned in Milwaukee and waited for Milwaukee police to show up for over an hour with no results, according to logs, so he took the vehicle home with the keys he had.
  • Police pursued a vehicle southbound on 27th Street beginning in the 5400 block of the Street around 10 p.m. on June 21, according to logs. Police arrested a driver after a PIT maneuver near Loomis Road and Howard Avenue, logs said. The man was cited for eluding, possession of cocaine and bail jumping, logs said.
  • Someone in the 8900 block of Waterford Square called 911 to report they ate 10 marijuana gummy bears and he is now experiencing extreme heart pumping, and the call was transferred to the West Allis Fire Department, according to logs.
