City Plans First Annual Holiday Tree Lighting In Konkel Park
A tree-lighting ceremony is planned for Konkel Park in December to kick off the holiday season.
GREENFIELD, WI — The City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department is planning on holding a holiday tree-lighting event in Konkel Park this December for the first time.
Several events to go alongside the holiday kick-off have been planned, although the city warned plans are subject to change. Parks and Recreation Department wrote on its website that so far a candy cane hunt, beverages and free hot chocolate, live entertainment, bring-your-own-camera pictures with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides, and of course, the tree lighting ceremony are planned.
The event would take place in Konkel Park, 5151 West Layton Avenue, on Dec. 4. The festivities would run from 3 p.m.-8 p.m., the tree lighting is planned for 5 p.m. The first annual event of its kind will be free to attend.
