Proposed Greenfield Gun Range, Shop On Common Council Agenda

The Greenfield Common Council will discuss a new firearm range and gun shop on West Layton Avenue at its July 20 meeting.

GREENFIELD, WI — The Greenfield Common Council will hold a public hearing for a special exception permit to a new gun range and store that has been proposed for Greenfield, according to a notice from the city.

The proposed gun range, Shoot Point Blank, will be discussed by the common council at its meeting on July 20. The public may submit opinions in writing or in person at the meeting. The gun range would require a special use permit to go forward, the notice said.

The business would be located at 10557 West Layton Avenue in Greenfield. The proposal was submitted by Ken Knuckles, doing business as Development Management Group LLC, and Brad Copp, doing business as ComptonAddy, the notice said.

The common council will also consider amending ordinances on recreational firearm ranges being permitted as a special use in the C-4 and C-5 business districts.

A full agenda for the meeting has not been released yet. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on July 20 at Greenfield City Hall, located at 7325 West Forest Home Avenue.
