GREENFIELD, WI — Motorists on Interstate 41 south and Interstate 43 north were met with a full eastbound closure Wednesday morning at the Hale Interchange in Greenfield, according to an update from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
A semi had hit a wall, rolled over and came to a rest across all lanes of traffic, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. The driver suffered minor injuries, but the semi was carrying 42,000 pounds of paper, the sheriff's office said, sparking a cleanup effort that could take hours.
The crash happened on I-41/43/894 south near 92nd Street around 4 a.m., according to WisDOT. Camera footage from the scene around 8:30 a.m. showed a heavy presence of tow trucks on the eastbound lanes.
