Fleeing Suspect Shot, Killed After Shooting Police Officer: Cops
A Greenfield police officer has been hospitalized in critical condition after police said a man shot him at 27th and Becher streets.
GREENFIELD, WI — A police chase suspect was shot and killed by pursuing officers after he shot and wounded one of them, the Greenfield Police Department said on Facebook Sunday morning.
Greenfield police said a driver was stopped at 35th Street and Oklahoma Avenue a little after 1:30 a.m., when, after initially stopping for police, fled and crashed at 27th and Becher streets.
The man shot at police officers, according to police, and struck one 36-year-old police officer with three years of experience multiple times. The police officer was hospitalized in critical, but stable, condition, police said.

The suspect, a 31-year-old man from Milwaukee, was pronounced dead at the scene after two other Greenfield police officers shot him, police said. He had not been identified as of 10 a.m.
