Greenfield Has Interim Business Director Picked Out

A key piece to the Greenfield School District’s transition puzzle will be in place Monday when the School Board approves the hiring of an interim business director.

Ronald Nortier would replace Kristin Kollath, who resigned last month after more than six years as the business director.

Nortier has 36 years of public education experience and was with the School District of Beloit from 1985-2009, where he served as Executive Director of Operations.

According to a memo to the School Board, the district made contact with nine candidates for the position, which was posted in late January, and interviewed two candidates, including Nortier.

His contract, if approved, would run through the end of the 2012-13 school year.

The regular School Board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, an hour later than usual because of a special School Board meeting slated for 6 p.m.

The entire special meeting will be held in closed session, but the Board is expected to discuss its next move as it relates to finding an interim superintendent; the class action lawsuit filed by teachers against the district earlier this year and other issues.

Whitnall looks at building upgrades

Meanwhile, at the Whitnall School Board meeting at 6:30 p.m., the Board is expected to take initial steps to look at costs related to planning proposals for new entryways at Whitnall High School and Hales Corners Elementary School and the construction of a new high school pool.
