Greenfield Man Gets Prison After Crash That Killed 4-Year-Old

After a 4-year-old was killed in a crash on 108th Street in 2022, a Greenfield man has been sentenced to prison, court records said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A Greenfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday in connection with a crash on a West Allis street that killed a 4-year-old in 2022, according to online court records.

Thomas M. McIntyre, 27, appeared before the court Thursday and was sentenced to an initial 25-year prison term with 10 years of extended supervision after for a first-degree reckless homicide conviction, which he pleaded guilty to, according to online court records. McIntyre had also pleaded guilty to a second-degree reckless injury charge and was sentenced concurrently with the homicide charge, court records indicated.

Police said a four-year-old was killed after an SUV driven by McIntyre slammed into the back of the child's car on June 15, 2022, in the 2800 block of 108th Street.

According to a criminal complaint, McIntyre earlier told the police he thought he was going "over 100" but did not want to hit another vehicle.

The child was found in a rear car seat after the crash, police said, while the driver slipped in and out of consciousness.
