GREENFIELD, WI β€” Police in Greenfield say an officer chasing after a wanted suspect suffered a severe cut that required at first glue, and later several stitches to close.

Police say an officer on patrol during the early-morning hours of Nov. 27 stopped to check on a pickup truck that was parked in the W. Loomis Park and Ride.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, the officer walked up to the truck to find out what was happening. The officer reported that the driver provided a story "that did not make sense," and learned that the passenger, Ashley Krutke, had an open warrant for her arrest on suspicion of drug possession.

Court documents stated that Krutke climbed over the driver's seat and ran from the pickup truck into a wooded area. Three Greenfield Police officers ran after her. After two tries, an officer managed to stun Krutke with a taser, effectively ending the chase and leading to her arrest.

During the chase, one officer slipped and fell, resulting in a hand laceration that required treatment at a local hospital. Police said the wound was first glued shut. The officer had to go back to the hospital a short time later after his hand swelled up. The wound was cleaned a second time, and he received five sutures to close the wound, the criminal complaint stated.
