The incident took place on Wednesday morning in Port Washington, and the 36-year-old Greenfield woman was found after a witness was able to identify the company logo from the sticker on her car on Thursday morning.

A 36-year-old Greenfield woman faces municipal citations in connection with a hit-and-run accident involving a student on Wednesday morning.

Port Washington police were able to track down the woman after a witness called the department and was able to identify the company logo from the suspect vehicle, a press release from the department said. "Contact was made with the driver who cooperated with the investigation."

The student was hit while walking across the street around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses were only able to obtain a brief description of the car: as a silver or white car or maybe SUV with some type of a blue and white round sticker on the back.
