It's a Bird - It's A Plane - It's the International Space Station!

If you've never seen the International Space Station flying 220 miles overhead, now is the time to do so, as the station will offer an incredible view to sky gazers across the country for the next several days.

In Greenfield, sightings have already been possible, but there are plenty more to come. In all cases, it will appear similar to a plane but traveling at a much higher rate of speed.

Here are the dates and times in the upcoming week to check it out (each lasts about 3-4 minutes):

Friday, June 22  - 9:51 p.m. coming from the west/northwest
Saturday, June 23 - 10:32 p.m. coming from the west
Sunday, June 24 - 9:39 p.m. coming from the west
Tuesday, June 26 - 9:27 p.m. coming from the west

The International Space Station is a unique partnership between the space agencies of the United States, Russia, Japan, Canada and Europe and  celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Seventeen crews have lived aboard the orbiting complex since 2000, including the current crew of three. Station residents have conducted important scientific experiments and gathered data to help assist future missions to the moon and Mars.
