Milwaukee Brewers ace starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson will miss the remainder of the 2017 MLB season, the team has announced Saturday.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee Brewers ace starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson will miss the remainder of the 2017 MLB season, the team has announced Saturday.
The team stated that Nelson has a right rotator cuff strain and partial anterior labrum tear.
Nelson reportedly injured his shoulder diving back into first base during a play Friday at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

During that play, Nelson thought he could advance to second base on a deep hit, only to reconsider on the base paths, hurriedly retreating back to first base.
He dove back to the base and showed discomfort when he did. He returned to the mound in the bottom of the fifth inning before he was pulled from the game.
