Lit Cigarette Cause Of Greenfield 92nd Street Fire: FD
Fire officials said nobody was home at the time of the fire, but that a dog made it safely out of the house.
GREENFIELD, WI — A house fire in Greenfield that severely damaged the front of a home on the 4000 block of S. 92nd Street started in a potted plant that was used to snuff out cigarettes, fire officials said.
According to a JSOnline report, the fire happened just before midnight on July 26.
A post by the Greenfield Fire Department on Twitter shared that a passerby called 911 that evening to report smoke and flames coming from the building.
