Man Taken Into Custody After Greenfield Woman Found Dead

GREENFIELD, WI — A 50-year-old Greenfield woman was found dead Wednesday in a home in the 4700 block of Maple Leaf Circle, the Greenfield Police Department said in a news release.

Her husband, a 48-year-old man, was taken into custody Wednesday after a brief standoff in Franklin, police said. Police said the death was domestic violence-related.

A family member from out of state had asked police to do a welfare check after they received information the woman may be dead, and police confirmed the woman had died, the police news release said.

Police said the case is being reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. More information was not immediately available.
