Men Flee Sheriff's Deputy After Stealing Demo Phones

But that wasn't the oddest case of retail theft we came across in the police blotter this week.

Two men are accused of stealing demo smart phones, nearly hitting an employee with their car and eluding law enforcement.

The men reportedly stole the phones from Verizon, 4965 S. 76th St. at 5:15 p.m. June 3. When an employee went out to the parking lot to confront them, he told police they nearly hit him with their vehicle, according to the Greenfield Police Department.

Later, a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and as he got off his motorcycle to approach the vehicle, the two men sped off and the deputy was unable to catch up.
