Missing Greenfield Man Found Dead In Kentucky; 1 Charged: Police

Police said the remains of a missing man from Greenfield were found around 400 miles south of Wisconsin in Kentucky on February 22.

EDMONTON, KY — Kentucky State Police on Feb. 22 discovered the remains of a missing Greenfield man, leading to the arrest of a California man, a news release from the agency said.

At first, authorities were called on Aug. 11 to report a missing person from a home on Breeding Road in Metcalfe County, which is about 430 miles southeast of Milwaukee. Police said they learned 35-year-old Corey Nathan Hart of Greenfield was missing, and authorities launched an investigation, a news release said.

Then, somebody found human remains on Betty Sparkman Road in Metcalfe County around 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 22, police said. Authorities confirmed it was human remains and with rapid DNA testing technology, the state medical examiner identified the remains as Corey Nathan Hart's, police said.

Amid the investigation police got an arrest warrant charging 38-year-old Christopher Leon of California with murder, police said. By Feb. 23, police found Leon in Lexington and arrested him, police said. Leon was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center, police said.
