Mother's Day Weekend: It's a Walk in the Park!

From birding to wildflower walks, the Milwaukee County Parks are offering a variety of activities with Mom in mind, Mother’s Day Weekend, May 7 and 8.

Wehr Nature Center – 9701 W. College Ave.

Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m: Mother’s Day Native Plant Sale: p.m. Items for sale include spring ephemerals, prairie plants, woodland plants, and wetland plant species.

Sunday, 7:30–10 a.m., Birding with Paul will welcome beginning and experienced birders to a prime-time hike for viewing colorful migratory birds, such as the warblers.

Boerner Botanical Gardens – 9400 Boerner Drive

Saturday & Sunday, 8 a.m.-dusk, Gardens are open

Saturday, 9 a.m.–noon, Chinese Brush Painting Workshop

Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon, Whimsical Wind Chimes Workshop

Sunday, 10 a.m.-noon, Mother’s Day Family Event: children can create make-and-take gifts for their mothers and grandmothers.

The Mitchell Park Domes – 524 S. Layton Blvd

Sunday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m, Spring Floral Show, Garden Impressions

Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Jewelry is Fun Show:Domes. The fair features a selection of jewelry and accessories all priced at $5.99. Items include rings, bracelets, necklaces, scarves, tote bags, and more.

Sunday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Resident Pianist, Jim William Mooney
