GREENFIELD, WI — A Muskego man was charged on Friday with hit-and-run causing great bodily harm after police say his car struck a Greenfield teenager on May 21, according to court records and news reports.
Walter Garrett Grebe, 34, was charged in Milwaukee County Court in connection with the crash that left the Greenfield High School student with serious injuries, CBS 58 reported.
A car hit the 16-year-old, identified by outlets as Trevor Le-Morrison, near Edgerton Avenue and Loomis Road. He was brought to the hospital after the car hit him. Trevor had to undergo surgery to fix internal organs and has since been treated for a brain bleed, two broken femurs, a broken collarbone and other injuries, the complaint said.

The teen was unconscious when first responders arrived. A witness told police they were having a water gun fight when someone chased Trevor into the roadway and a dark SUV hit him on Loomis Road, the complaint said.
The witness told police the driver never stopped, and pointed out a license plate that was left behind in the crash, the complaint said. Pieces of a "J" and a "P" were also found at the scene, according to police.
Officers ran the license plate, and it turned up to be someone who knows Grebe, so police visited the home where the vehicle was registered, the complaint said.
Grebe was not at the house until police re-visited the day after. According to the complaint, Grebe told police he was sorry, that "the kid" ran into his car, and that he left his car at Potawatomi.
Police found significant damage to the front bumper of the car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as fibers, and possibly skin transfer, the complaint said.
Grebe told police during an interview that he was at a volleyball tournament in Oak Creek the day of the crash and that he had only had two drinks, the complaint said. He told police he dropped off two of his friends and was headed home when he turned onto Loomis from Edgerton, and that the crash happened quickly thereafter, according to the complaint.
Grebe told police there seemed to be a party in the area, and that he hit something, but he didn't know what it was, so he went into "fight or flight mode" and drove off to leave the car at Potawatomi, where there were lots of other cars, according to the complaint.
After Grebe dropped the Jeep off at Potawatomi, he called an Uber to pick him up and spent the night at a park before returning home about an hour before police arrived on May 22, the complaint said.
