New Powerline Trail In Greenfield Completes First Construction Phase

The first phase of the Powerline Trail, a new mixed-use pathway through Greenfield, was completed recently.

GREENFIELD, WI — The first phase of Greenfield's Powerline Trail is now complete, the city announced, expanding Milwaukee County's Oak Leaf Trail network from 105th and Cold Spring east to 60th Street.

The trail runs mainly under We Energies powerlines on a strip of land between Howard and Cold Spring Roads. The second phase of the project could eventually push the trail further east as the utility corridor runs all the way to Lake Michigan.

The shared-use path was constructed with a variety of restaurants, grocers, schools and Greenfield City Hall within a 1/4 mile. The trail is also designed to connect to bus stop hubs.
