No Fooling: Snow, Winter Weather To Hit Election Day

Total snow accumulations within the advisory will range from 3 to 7 inches with the higher totals towards central Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI - Tuesday, April 3 is a big day in Wisconsin as spring elections take place. Unfortunately, Election Day will also be accompanied by snow, sleet and less aptly described as "yuck."

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect for parts of southern Wisconsin starting early on Tuesday at 1 a.m. The snow is expected to develop as early as Monday afternoon and become more widespread overnight. Some light freezing rain is possible.

Snow of 3 inches or more is expected north of I-94, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. A sharp gradient of 3-7 inches of snow expected across northern parts of Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, and Sheboygan Counties, with amounts increasing further north. South of I-94, amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected.

The National Weather Service is predicting that accumulating snow is expected Tuesday with some mixed precipitation possible as well. The heavier snow accumulations will occur across the northern reaches of southern Wisconsin with lesser snow amounts in the south.

The snow is expected to gradually diminish Tuesday night. The Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the area will expire at 7 a.m. wednesday. Total snow accumulations within the advisory will range from 3 to 7 inches with the higher totals towards central Wisconsin.
