Nothing Bundt Cakes Bakery Destined For Greenfield

Bundt cakes are the focus of this bakery franchise. A new location is planned for Greenfield on Holmes Avenue.

GREENFIELD, WI — Nothing Bundt Cakes, a bakery that sells as it sounds, will open a new franchise location in Greenfield.

The franchise sells Bundt cakes. A ring-shaped mold is used for them, resulting in the signature Bundt look. The bakeries make them in-house with a variety of flavors and frosting combinations.

"The new store in Greenfield will look very much like the one in Brookfield and in Fox Point," Mike Dejong told Patch. "It has a homey, old school feel."

Bitesize Bundts and full scale wedding cakes are all available. Some signature flavors: carrot, white chocolate raspberry, red velvet and more, according to the company's website.

The bakery franchise started in Las Vegas in 1997. It has since grown to hundreds of other locations, two of them in the Milwaukee area. The Greenfield bakery, to be located at 7450 Holmes Avenue, will be the third in the area, Dejong told Patch.

"Our cakes are made with love. I used to say that with a tongue-in-cheek, but there's a lot of truth to it if you met the people making them," Dejong said.

The Brookfield location was opened in 2017, the Greenfield one will be the second franchise that Dejong owns, he said. Dejong has lived in the area since 1988, he said. For now, the Greenfield bakery is expected to open on Sept. 24, he said.

"The Greenfield area is the next good spot to bring cakes. And when I say bring cakes, I know it's cheesy, but it's so true," Dejong said. "If you came and lived my life for a bit you'd understand, we don't bring cakes, we bring joy."

"What're you going to do at a birthday party? Cake. When the cake comes out, everyone smiles," he added. "That's joy."
