The Park Next Door, which for the past decade has introduced online readers to Wisconsin's local parks, nature centers and preserves a short journey away, now adds a quarterly magazine format designed to provide an even deeper understanding of and appreciation for the outdoors.

“I’m so excited to share the nature content of The Park Next Door site and blog in another format,” said Kimberly Mackowski, the site’s creator. “You’ll find some of the website’s best features in the new magazine, along with some original content as well.”

The added magazine format allows for additional appreciation of thousands of photos Kimberly has taken of landscapes, birds, animals, foliage, and other special finds as she explores hundreds of areas – many off the beaten path – along with her descriptive profiles of each location. A bird watching enthusiast, she devotes dozens of hours weekly to finding and chronicling new natural spaces.
