Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle While Crossing 27th Street

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, but was in good enough condition to speak with the investigating officer.

Greenfield police are investigating an incident involving a pedestrian getting struck by a vehicle while crossing 27th Street near the I-894 on-ramps.

The incident happened just before 11:40 a.m.

According to Capt. Michael Brunner, a 19-year-old male was riding a skateboard north on the sidewalk approaching the intersection of the off-ramp. A 28-year-old female driving a vehicle began to make a right turn to go south on South 27th Street and did not see the pedestrian when he entered the intersection in the crosswalk.

The vehicle hit the pedestrian, who was transported to Froedtert by ambulance. The pedestrian suffered a broken leg.

The incident is still under investigation to determine the conditions of the traffic signals at the time of the accident.
