Quarterback Alex Hornibrook Leaving the Wisconsin Badgers

Hornibrook has been the Badgers' starting quarterback for the last three seasons, and is entering his final year of eligibility.

MADISON, WI — After three seasons, Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook has announced that he is leaving the Badgers.

According to an ESPN report Wednesday, Hornibrook, a West Chester, PA native, announced the news on his Instagram account, stating that he's entering the NCAA's student-athlete transfer portal.

"I would like to thank the University of Wisconsin, the football coaches, the training staff, my teammates an the fans for four great years as a Badger, the quarterback said on Instagram. "I have decided that after I graduate from the UW School of Business in May, I will transfer to a new school to play my final season of college football."

Hornibrook has been the Badgers' starting quarterback for the last three seasons, and is entering his final year of eligibility.

"Alex informed us of his decision to leave the team earlier today," Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst said in the ESPN report. "He contributed to a lot of our recent success and we want to thank him for all he did for our program. We wish him the best of luck."
