Shanola Hampton, Star of NBC’s Hit Drama Found, Coming to Alverno
The actress will talk about her life and philanthropic efforts, and host an acting master class.

Shanola Hampton, known for her role as Veronica Fisher on the Showtime dramedy Shameless and star of NBC’s hit drama Found, will speak at Alverno College on Friday, February 2 and host an acting master class on Saturday, February 3. Both events will take place in the Pitman Theatre and are open to the public.
Hampton's talk will focus on her life, her journey and her mission, and what it took to go from South Carolina to being the star and producer of a popular network television show. Hampton is devoted to several causes to which she gives her time and money. Both she and her family volunteer with Feeding America, and she has been a long-time financial supporter of The Art of Elysium, an organization built on the idea that art can become a catalyst for social change through service. Her commitment to its many initiatives, including the theater program and the Girl Talk initiative, has made a substantial impact, earning her the Spirit Award in 2018. She was also part of I Lend My Voice, a campaign that raised money to battle human trafficking. The speaker event will be facilitated by Dana World-Patterson, founder and CEO of Foundations for Freedom, who has worked tirelessly to eradicate human trafficking through education, awareness, advocacy and prevention.
The acting master class will focus on navigating the road to auditioning and acting from local theater to TV and film, and will be limited to 30 people.
