GREENFIELD, WI — Students who attend Greenfield High School got an unexpected early start to their Thanksgiving break this year after district officials closed the school Tuesday, Nov. 26 over a report of a shooting threat.

Greenfield School District Superintendent Lisa Elliot authored a statement early Tuesday, saying that someone posted "irresponsible comments about a potential school shooting."

Elliot said Greenfield Police are investigating the potential threat, and does not believe the threat is credible. Closing Greenfield High School is precautionary, she said.
