Winter Weather Advisory, 2 Inches Snow Forecast Wednesday

Around an inch of snow is expected with lesser amounts near the Illinois border and near Lake Michigan.

WISCONSIN -- After a round of frigid weather, a morning of snow is in the forecast for early Wednesday. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area starting Wednesday at 6 a.m.

According to the NWS, a period of light snow and areas of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle are expected Wednesday morning which will impact the morning commute. Around an inch of snow is expected with lesser amounts near the Illinois border and near Lake Michigan.

A light glaze of ice is possible over south central Wisconsin. A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 6 a.m. for the remainder of the forecast area. The advisories are set to expire at noon, as the precipitation will be winding down.

What's Up: Mixed precipitation expected. Snow will quickly overspread the area early Wednesday morning. Patchy freezing drizzle is possible as the snow ends, especially south of I-94. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.
