Wisconsin Weather: Severe Thunderstorms Forecast For Tonight

Late this afternoon into this evening, primary threats will be large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall causing localized flooding.

WISCONSIN — Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are possible in two round through the end of the week. The first round will be this evening into tonight, with the second round Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.

The National Weather Service says that severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are possible during these two stretches. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall with localized flooding are primary concerns, and a tornado is also possible Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening. Additional rainfall totals of between one to two inches are expected, with localized heavier amounts.

Wednesday night, the primary threat will be heavy rainfall with a lesser threat for hail. Approximately 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Thursday afternoon into the evening, the primary threats will be large hail, damaging winds, heavy rainfall causing localized flooding and possibly a tornado.

Areas Impacted

Late this afternoon/evening: Areas along and south of a Mineral Point, to Madison, to Kenosha line.

Tonight: All of southern Wisconsin.

Thursday afternoon and evening: Areas along and south of a Lone Rock, to Madison, to Elkhorn line. Approximately 2 p.m. into the evening.
