Wisconsin Weather: Snow And Ice Storm Coming Overnight

A quick one-to-three inches of snow are expected, followed by warmer temperatures and an ice storm.

WISCONSIN -- The snow will be flying again by the time you wake up Wednesday morning, the National Weather says.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for part of the state as snow will quickly spread into southern Wisconsin early Wednesday morning from the southwest.

A quick one-to-three inches of snow are expected in south central Wisconsin, with slightly lower amounts in southeast Wisconsin, right during the morning commute.

Snow will become mixed with or change over to freezing rain across the southeast late Wednesday morning, and across portions of south central and east central Wisconsin by the middle of Wednesday afternoon. The snow and wintry mix will exit to the north from late afternoon through early evening.

Precipitation: Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch expected.

Location: Southeastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha Counties.

When: From 3 a.m to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Hazards: Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute.
