1 Dead In Friday Morning Caledonia Crash

Authorities say one Racine man was killed and a second injured in a crash early Friday morning near Batten International Airport.

CALEDONIA, WI — A 36-year-old Racine man is dead and the 38-year-old person he was traveling with was seriously injured following an early-morning crash in Caledonia on Nov. 1.

According to the Caledonia Police Department, Anthony Price, 36, and Jonathan Vaughn, 38, were driving south on N. Green Bay Road in a white Volkswagen Jetta near Louise Lane at just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 1 when their vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree. That stretch of N. Green Bay road is located just to the west of Batten International Airport, and is a two-lane road.

Police say Price was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and died at the scene. Vaughn sustained serious injuries and was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Authorities in Caledonia were assisted by Mount Pleasant police and the Wisconsin State Patrol Traffic Reconstruction Unit at the scene of Friday's crash.
