MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — The Racine Unified School District unveiled plans for a new $23 million aquatic center on the Case High School grounds.

School Board officials got their first look at the plans Monday night. Patch reached out to the district for details about the project, including specifications. The project will serve both district students and members of the community, district officials said.

According to a Journal Times report, Unified will fund the project from the district's community service fund, which is a fund set aside for projects that serve the community. The report also stated the natatorium would be built on land just west of Case.

10 Things To Know About The Proposal

1. Proposed 43,000 square foot building.
2. Raised seating for 800 spectators.
3. Ten-lane pool 25 yards in length.
4. Movable bulkhead to allow versatility in use of pool.
5. Two one-meter diving boards, and two three-meter diving boards.
6. Multi-purpose pool for four lanes of warm-water swimming and other training uses.
7. Two sets of separate locker rooms, one set for athletic use and the other set for students and the public.
8. Separate family changing rooms and one family locker room.
9. Central gathering lobby space with full view to natatorium, and a concession space of approximately 300 square feet.
10. Offices for facility, pool manager, check in and registration.
